Abstract
The oil industry is a vital economic sector of strategic importance, given its requirement for massive investments and its connection to depleting natural resources. In this study will examine the legal framework of oil contracts, particularly those concluded by host countries with specialized oil exploration and extraction companies. It will also address the legal regulation of oil contracts concluded by consumer countries to secure their petroleum energy needs. We will analyze these agreements in light of private law rules, highlight the associated legal challenges, and present legal perspectives that ensure a balance between protecting national sovereignty, encouraging investment, achieving contractual justice, and ways to develop them.
